Respected parents, and dear students,
Good Afternoon!
Today, we gather here to celebrate the graduation of the remarkable Class of 2025. Standing before you, my heart is filled with overwhelming emotions. Three years ago, on the first day of school, you walked onto this campus full of youthful energy. I still remember how your high ponytails swayed confidently in the breeze, with faces glowing with curiosity and dreams of what lay ahead. Today, you have grown into confident and mature young adults. As your teachers, we have witnessed your sweat and laughter, your moments of confusion and setbacks, and, most importantly, your growth. To be honest, I've dreamed of this graduation day many times, and each time, I woke up with a sense of sadness. Now that this day has finally arrived, my heart is heavy with reluctance to part, but even more so, it swells with pride and joy for all of you.

- With deep reluctance to part and heartfelt wishes for students, Cathy choke up several times as she delivered her speech at the graduation ceremony.
I still remember your early days in Pre or G2, when IGCSE studies felt manageable, and everything seemed within your grasp. Back then, the road ahead looked smooth, and your confidence was steady. But then came the AS year, when academic pressures surged, and quiet anxiety began to take root as you started worrying about the future. That year tested more than just your intellect - it was also a quiet sharpening of your mindset and spirit. And just when you entered A2, believing it was finally time to harvest the fruits of your hard work, you were met with an unexpected shift: the tightening of university admission policies in Hong Kong. I know how much effort you had already poured into this journey. Faced with these sudden changes, some of you felt it was unfair - even wondering, "If this was the outcome, was all the effort really worth it?"
But then, you found the answers within yourselves.
You said, "No rejection letter can takeaway everything I've worked for."
You said, "We must allow and accept whatever comes, and believethat everything happens for the best."
You said, "Regret is a part of life, but the courage to persistand the journey itself are the most precious rewards."

And in that moment, I was truly proud - because you hadalready learned what real growth means: staying resilient in the face of setbacks, forging ahead even through confusion, and choosing kindness even when life seems unfair.
After today, you will set out on a brand new journey - your life in university. This transition from high school to college is more than just achange in environment; it is a turning point that will shape you into truly independent individuals.
In university, no teacher will patiently walk you through how the photo electric effect proves the particle nature of light. No one will tell you, "You can't take leave" and no parent will be there to remind you to eat your meals on time. The first step toward independence is learning how to take initiative in your learning.
Please remember: true growth comes from active learning - from thinking for yourself, not from passively absorbing information. What is learned passively will eventually fade, but the ability to think deeply and independently will continue to shape a stronger version of you. And never forget to be a lifelong learner. It is this habit that will become your fuel when the road ahead feels uncertain, and your compass when you lose your way.
These three years of high school have been some of the purest moments of your lives. You wrote diligently in the classroom, ran with all your heart across the sports field, and let your talents shine through artistic expression. These fleeting moments have now become treasured memories of youth.
No matter how far life takes you, your alma mater will always be your home. Come back and visit when you can - we'll be thinking of you.
Today marks your last day as a student here. I hope you leave with aheart full of gratitude - for the quiet sacrifices of your parents, the gentle guidance of your teachers, and the unwavering support of your friends. Take the time to bid a proper farewell to your high school days.
And as you walk forward into the future, may you always remember the version of yourself who once gave everything in pursuit of a dream.
Your alma mater is so proud of you.
Thank you!
